Leading UK falls management experts launch new ISTUMBLE® Information Dashboard

Falls management experts, Winncare, have announced the launch of the new ISTUMBLE® Information Dashboard, a powerful data-driven solution designed to enhance falls management, improve outcomes for residents and support smarter decision-making across care homes, care home groups, and Integrated Care Boards (ICBs).

Falls remain one of the most significant challenges facing health and social care. Each year, an estimated five million people experience a fall, with more than 50% of ambulance callouts to elderly falls involving individuals who are uninjured but unable to get up unaided. As the population ages, the demand on ambulance services continues to rise, with average response times for non-injured falls now around four hours. For vulnerable residents, extended time on the floor, known as a “long lie”, can have serious physical, emotional and psychological consequences.

To address this growing challenge, Winncare collaborated with the Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust to develop ISTUMBLE®, a nationally recognised health assessment app and algorithm that supports care staff to make safe, confident decisions following a fall. The ISTUMBLE® app provides clear guidance on when to call an ambulance and when it is appropriate to use manual handling equipment to lift a resident safely, helping to reduce unnecessary ambulance callouts and significantly shorten time spent on the floor.

Accredited, DTAC compliant and approved for NHS use, ISTUMBLE® is a widely recognised and used health assessment tool used to improve falls management across care settings. Building on this success, the new ISTUMBLE® Information Dashboard represents a major step forward in falls data intelligence.

Seamlessly integrated with ISTUMBLE®, the dashboard transforms frontline fall assessments into actionable insight. It provides real-time visibility of falls and transfer activity, enabling organisations to track and identify patterns, monitor outcomes, and support consistent decision-making. Tailored access allows Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), Care Home Groups and commissioners to view region-specific data, offering system-wide oversight while retaining care home-level detail.

Simon Claridge, CEO, Winncare, explained, “Falls present a system-wide challenge, with implications for resident safety, dignity, workforce demand and ambulance capacity. The ISTUMBLE® Information Dashboard converts frontline assessments into reliable intelligence, providing health and care systems with the visibility needed to improve outcomes and support more efficient use of resources.”
