The Avon 6 EH (previously the Avon Heel) supports improved pressure relief in the vulnerable heel area as pressure is redistributed onto the less vulnerable calf, via an ultra-soft visco-foam, tapered heel section.
Providing the perfect combination of stability, pressure redistribution, and comfort the Avon 6 EH combines high specification combustion modified ether (CME) castellated foam with a CME u-shaped core.
Infection prevention and control are supported, using a premium 230 g water-resistant, multi-stretch, vapour permeable cover material that ensures a robust defence against water ingress and bacteria.
International guidelines state to use a high-specification (density > 35 kg/m3) reactive layer foam mattress or overlay in preference to a foam mattress without high specification qualities for individuals at risk of developing pressure ulcers (EPUAP, 2019).
Unlike manufacturers who buy in surfaces, our Avon range is made from raw material foam blocks, transformed in our UK-based manufacturing plant using state-of-the-art CNC cutting machines.
